1. Click on the volunteer spot you are interested in to view shifts.
* You can SORT SHIFTS BY Location, Date or Job* at the right hand side of the screen.
2. Click on 'see description' within each shift to read more.
3. Tick the shift(s) you would like to fill.
4. Scroll down to complete your details in the Volunteer Registration Form.
5. Once you are happy with your shift(s) and have filled in your details - select 'Sign Up To Volunteer'.
6. You will receive an email showing which shifts you have requested. Please check your email inbox for details.
7. We will be in touch by phone or email after the Easter break to confirm your shift/s.

NB. Once a shift has been filled, it will no longer appear online.

*You can use the 'Volunteer Profile Link' in your confirmation email to view the most up-to-date information about your volunteer shift. If you need to update your details, or change your shift(s), you can do it through your 'Volunteer Profile Link'.
IMPORTANT: for health and safety reasons you MUST allow at least an 8 hour break between shifts if you are taking more than one shift.

When you sign up for an Oxfam Trailwalker Volunteer shift, you agree to the following conditions:
• I will be 18 years old or over on the first day of the event at which I am volunteering, or I am between the ages of 16 and 18 and will be supervised for the duration of my shift by an adult working on the same shift and location.
• I will arrive on the Oxfam Trailwalker site with everything I will need to support myself throughout my shift. This includes clothing for all weather (see suggested personal equipment list in the Essential Information Checklist attached to your shift confirmation email).
• I have read the Position Description for my volunteer job.
• I have read the Oxfam Trailwalker Volunteer Handbook and completed any relevant training for required for my role.
• I understand that during the event or related activities I may be photographed or filmed. I agree to allow my photograph, video or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by Oxfam, the sponsors and or assigns.
• I will endeavour to maintain Oxfam Trailwalker’s reputation as a green event and will support Oxfam’s endeavours to reduce their environmental impact.
• I will not do anything to endanger my or any other person’s safety, including children and I will report any concerns immediately to a Checkpoint Coordinator or Oxfam Staff member.
• I understand that it is expressly forbidden to consume or be under the influence of alcohol or intoxicants whilst volunteering at an Oxfam event. Oxfam reserves the right to have anyone found to be volunteering under the influence of drink or intoxicants, or behaving in a manner which might bring Oxfam into disrepute, removed from the event site.
• I will treat all fellow volunteers, Oxfam staff members and event participants and visitors with respect. I will not use language or behaviour towards any other person or child that is inappropriate, harassing, abusive, sexually provocative, intended to humiliate or is culturally inappropriate.
• I understand that Oxfam is not responsible for the personal possessions of anyone volunteering at an Oxfam event and I will take due care to keep my possessions secure.
• I will wear the provided high visibility Oxfam vest at all times whilst on shift.
• Dogs are not permitted on the trail or at checkpoints. Neither is smoking.
Oxfam Australia Child Safeguarding Code of Conduct

• Oxfam Australia (OAU) is committed to the safety and protection of children in all its work as outlined in the OAU Child Safeguarding Policy. This Code of Conduct builds on the Key Principles of that Policy by providing clear boundaries for the behaviour of all OAU personnel and volunteers. At all times and serves as a guide to make decisions in the best interests of children in their professional and private lives.
I agree to:
• Immediately report concerns for the safety or wellbeing of a child, or a possible breach of the Child Safeguarding Policy or Code of Conduct.
• Immediately disclose all charges, convictions and other outcomes of an offence that I was/am subject to and relates to child exploitation and abuse, including those under traditional law, which occurred before or occurs during association with OAU.
• Wherever possible, ensure that another adult is present when working near children.
• Not use any computers, mobile phones, video cameras, cameras or social media to exploit or harass children, or access child sexual exploitation material through any medium.
• Speak with Management about any concerns I have of my involvement in any situation where my words, actions or behaviour may be interpreted as a breach of this Code of Conduct
• Act professionally towards children with whom I interact, whilst at the same time showing genuine care and compassion.
